Liquid Staking FAQs
Common questions about staking minimums, unbonding, slashing, custody, and Flux Points.
Is there a minimum deposit amount? No minimum. You can stake any amount of MANTRA.
Do I need to claim rewards manually? No. Rewards compound automatically into the stMANTRA redemption rate. You don't need to take any action to earn.
What is the unbonding period when I unstake? The unbonding period follows MANTRA Chain's standard Cosmos SDK unbonding window, currently 8 days. Depending on the timing of the protocol's cron job that unbonds MANTRA, you may have to wait as long as 9 days to claim your MANTRA. During this period your MANTRA does not earn rewards and cannot be transferred.
If you need liquidity immediately, you can sell stMANTRA on QuickSwap instead of going through the unbonding process.
Can stMANTRA lose value against MANTRA? Under normal protocol operation, no. The redemption rate only moves upward. The only scenario where stMANTRA holders could lose value is a validator slashing event, i.e. if the OMies v2 validator misbehaves and gets penalized, the underlying staked MANTRA could be partially slashed. Users should be aware that Fluxtra currently delegates to a single validator, which means slashing exposure is not diversified across multiple operators.
Is my staked MANTRA custodied by Fluxtra? No. Smart contracts hold the staked MANTRA on behalf of stMANTRA holders. The protocol does not have unilateral access to withdraw user funds.
What's the difference between stMANTRA and ftMANTRA? ftMANTRA was Fluxtra's original Cosmos-native liquid staking token, operating before MANTRA Chain launched EVM compatibility. stMANTRA is the EVM replacement. ftMANTRA has been deprecated. If you think you still have ftMANTRA in a wallet, connect your Keplr wallet at the legacy Fluxtra page and go through the unstaking process.
Do I still earn Flux Points while staking? Liquid staking positions may be eligible for Flux Points depending on the current season's mechanics. Staking rewards (the base APY) accrue regardless of Flux Points eligibility. See Flux Points for current season details.
Where can I look up my transactions or verify a contract on MANTRA Chain? Use blockscout.mantrascan.io, the preferred MANTRA Chain block explorer. You can search by wallet address, transaction hash, or contract address to inspect staking activity, unbonding status, and token balances. For the stMANTRA contract specifically, go to blockscout.mantrascan.io/token/0x4131a80b67BE287627766B858C3C6d7f9e900324.
